Liferay and Valamis Digital Solutions Forum: Utilizing advanced technology and the best features of social learning leads to the most effective learning results
Leiden, the Netherlands, and Joensuu, Finland, March 24, 2016. Liferay, the leading provider of software that helps companies create digital experiences, and Arcusys, the company behind Valamis - Learning Experience Platform, teamed up to host an event about how the digital transformation is reshaping entire industries, as organizations and institutions are forced to change the way employees, students, partners and customers approach learning and training.
Even though, in the course of the last decades, workplaces and learning technologies have been through tremendous changes, not much has changed in regards to organizational learning processes. “Future organizations will have multiple needs, needs which traditional electronic learning systems and portals do not support,” said Ruud Kluivers, General Manager at Liferay Benelux BV. “Enterprises and learning institutions who embrace this change are utilizing platforms that are be able to grow with the unique requirements of the organization.”
The Forum, co-organized by Liferay and Arcusys, brought together experts in digital, open source learning solutions on March 17 in Culemborg, the Netherlands. The keynote speaker at the Forum was Wilfred Rubens, Dutch author and recognized speaker in technology enhanced learning. In addition, the event featured presentations of real life learning solutions with best-practices from several industries, product demonstrations, and roundtable discussions.
Already a year ago the analyst firm Gartner wrote about how digitalization will affect workplaces on various levels, including organizational culture, processes, and technology. “In the digital world, traditional Learning Management Systems, and the course-based approach in learning, are becoming outdated,” said Jari Järvelä, Chief Operating Officer at Arcusys. “Organizations are asking for more comprehensive and flexible solutions, in order to provide exceptional learning experiences for customers, students, employees and partners alike.”
